NKJV | But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. |
BABA | Sunggoh pun kamu sudah tahu smoa perkara dngan satu kali juga, ttapi sahya mau ingatkan kamu, bagimana bila Tuhan sudah slamatkan satu bangsa deri negri Masir, kmdian dia binasakan pula orang-orang yang t'ada perchaya. |
KL1863 | Tetapi akoe maoe mengingetken kamoe, maski kamoe soedah taoe segala perkara ini, bagimana Toehan, habis melepasken itoe bangsa dari negari Mesir, {Bil 14:29; 26:64,65; Maz 106:26; 1Ko 10:5; Ibr 3:17} lantas membinasaken segala orang jang tidak pertjaja itoe. |
KL1870 | Maka sebab itoe akoe hendak mengingatkan kamoe, djikalau kamoe mengetahoei ini dehoeloe sakalipon, bagaimana Toehan, satelah soedah dilepaskannja bangsa itoe dari dalam negari Masir, kemoedian dibinasakannja djoega mareka-itoe sakalian jang tidak pertjaja; |
DRFT_LDK | Tetapi 'aku kahendakij meng`ingatkan kamu, sedang kamu sakali 2 meng`atahuwij hhal 'ini, bahuwa maha besar Tuhan, habis delepaskannja khawm deri dalam tanah Mitsir, 'itu komedijennja sudah membinasakan segala 'awrang jang sudah tijada ber`iman. |
TB_ITL_DRF | Tetapi <1161>, sekalipun kamu <5209> telah mengetahui <1492> semuanya <3956> itu dan tidak meragukannya lagi, aku ingin <1014> mengingatkan <5279> kamu bahwa <3754> memang Tuhan <2962> menyelamatkan <4982> umat-Nya <2992> dari <1537> tanah <1093> Mesir <125>, namun sekali lagi <1208> membinasakan <622> mereka yang tidak <3361> percaya <4100>. |
TL_ITL_DRF | Tetapi <1161> aku suka hendak <1014> mengingatkan <5279> kamu <5209>, walaupun <1014> kamu mengetahui <1492> segala sesuatu <3956> itu dengan serta mertanya <530> <3754> <1208>, bagaimana yang Tuhan <2962>, (sesudahnya <1093> menyelamatkan <4982> suatu kaum <2992> keluar dari <1537> negeri Mesir <125>), kemudian daripada itu membinasakan <622> mereka itu yang tiada <3361> beriman <4100>. |
AV# | I will <1014> (5736) therefore <1161> put <5279> (0) you <5209> in remembrance <5279> (5658), though ye <5209> once <530> knew <1492> (5761) this <5124>, how that <3754> the Lord <2962>, having saved <4982> (5660) the people <2992> out of <1537> the land <1093> of Egypt <125>, afterward <1208> destroyed <622> (5656) them that believed <4100> (5660) not <3361>. |
BBE | Now it is my purpose to put you in mind, though you once had knowledge of all these things, of how the Lord, having taken a people safely out of Egypt, later sent destruction on those who had no faith; |
MESSAGE | I'm laying this out as clearly as I can, even though you once knew all this well enough and shouldn't need reminding. Here it is in brief: The Master saved a people out of the land of Egypt. Later he destroyed those who defected. |
PHILIPS | I want to remind you of something that you really know already: that although the Lord saved all the people from the land of Egypt, yet afterwards he brought to their downfall those who would not trust him. |
RWEBSTR | I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. |
GWV | I want to remind you about what you already know: The Lord once saved his people from Egypt. But on another occasion he destroyed those who didn't believe. |
NET | Now I desire to remind you (even though you have been fully informed of these facts* once for all*) that Jesus,* having saved the* people out of the land of Egypt, later* destroyed those who did not believe. |
NET | 1:5 Now I desire to remind you (even though you have been fully informed of these facts22 tn Grk “knowing all things.” The subject of the participle “knowing” (εἰδότας, eidota") is an implied ὑμᾶς (Jumas), though several ancient witnesses actually add it. The πάντα (panta) takes on an adverbial force in this context (“fully”), intensifying how acquainted the readers are with the following points. once for all23 tc ‡ Some translations take ἅπαξ (Japax) with the following clause (thus, “[Jesus,] having saved the people once for all”). Such a translation presupposes that ἅπαξ is a part of the ὅτι (Joti) clause. The reading of NA27, πάντα ὅτι [ὁ] κύριος ἅπαξ (panta {oti [Jo] kurio" {apax), suggests this interpretation (though with “Lord” instead of “Jesus”). This particle is found before λαόν (laon) in the ὅτι clause in א C* Ψ 630 1241 1243 1505 1739 1846 1881 pc co. But ἅπαξ is found before the ὅτι clause in most witnesses, including several important ones (Ì72 A B C2 33 81 623 2344 Ï vg). What seems best able to explain the various placements of the adverb is that scribes were uncomfortable with ἅπαξ referring to the readers’ knowledge, feeling it was more appropriate to the theological significance of “saved” (σώσας, swsas). ) that Jesus,24 tc ‡ The reading ᾿Ιησοῦς (Ihsous, “Jesus”) is deemed too hard by several scholars, since it involves the notion of Jesus acting in the early history of the nation Israel. However, not only does this reading enjoy the strongest support from a variety of early witnesses (e.g., A B 33 81 1241 1739 1881 2344 pc vg co Or1739mg), but the plethora of variants demonstrate that scribes were uncomfortable with it, for they seemed to exchange κύριος (kurios, “Lord”) or θεός (qeos, “God”) for ᾿Ιησοῦς (though Ì72 has the intriguing reading θεὸς Χριστός [qeos Cristos, “God Christ”] for ᾿Ιησοῦς). In addition to the evidence supplied in NA27 for this reading, note also {88 322 323 424c 665 915 2298 eth Cyr Hier Bede}. As difficult as the reading ᾿Ιησοῦς is, in light of v. 4 and in light of the progress of revelation (Jude being one of the last books in the NT to be composed), it is wholly appropriate. having saved the25 tn Or perhaps “a,” though this is less likely. people out of the land of Egypt, later26 tn Grk “the second time.” destroyed those who did not believe.
