2:12:1 But false prophets arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you.70 These false teachers71 will72 infiltrate your midst73 with destructive heresies,74 even to the point of75 denying the Master who bought them. As a result, they will bring76 swift destruction on themselves.
2:22:2 And many will follow their debauched lifestyles.77 Because of these false teachers,78 the way of truth will be slandered.79
2:32:3 And in their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. Their80 condemnation pronounced long ago81 is not sitting idly by;82 their83 destruction is not asleep.

2:42:4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned,84 but threw them into hell85 and locked them up86 in chains87 in utter darkness,88 to be kept until the judgment,
2:52:5 and if he did not spare the ancient world, but did protect Noah, a herald of righteousness, along with seven others,89 when God90 brought a flood on an ungodly world,91
2:62:6 and if he turned to ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah when he condemned them to destruction,92 having appointed93 them to serve as an example94 to future generations of the ungodly,95
2:72:7 and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man in anguish over the debauched lifestyle of lawless96 men,97
2:82:8 (for while he lived among them day after day, that righteous man was tormented in his righteous soul98 by the lawless deeds he saw and heard99 )
2:92:9 – if so,100 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials,101 and to reserve the unrighteous for punishment102 at the day of judgment,
2:102:10 especially those who indulge their fleshly desires103 and who despise authority.

Brazen and insolent,104

they are not afraid to insult105 the glorious ones,106
2:112:11 yet even107 angels, who are much more powerful,108 do not bring a slanderous109 judgment against them before the Lord.110
2:122:12 But111 these men,112 like irrational animals – creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed113 – do not understand whom114 they are insulting, and consequently115 in their destruction they will be destroyed,116
2:132:13 suffering harm as the wages for their harmful ways.117 By considering it a pleasure to carouse in broad daylight,118 they are stains and blemishes, indulging119 in their deceitful pleasures when they feast together with you.
2:142:14 Their eyes,120 full of adultery,121 never stop sinning;122 they entice123 unstable people.124 They have trained their hearts for greed, these cursed children!125
2:152:15 By forsaking the right path they have gone astray, because they followed the way of Balaam son of Bosor,126 who loved the wages of unrighteousness,127
2:162:16 yet was rebuked128 for his own transgression (a dumb donkey,129 speaking with a human voice,130 restrained the prophet’s madness).131

2:172:17 These men132 are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm, for whom the utter depths of darkness133 have been reserved.
2:182:18 For by speaking high-sounding but empty words134 they are able to entice,135 with fleshly desires and with debauchery,136 people137 who have just escaped138 from those who reside in error.139
2:192:19 Although these false teachers promise140 such people141 freedom, they themselves are enslaved to142 immorality.143 For whatever a person succumbs to, to that he is enslaved.144
2:202:20 For if after they have escaped the filthy things145 of the world through the rich knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,146 they147 again get entangled in them and succumb to them,148 their last state has become worse for them than their first.
2:212:21 For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than, having known it, to turn back from the holy commandment that had been delivered to them.
2:222:22 They are illustrations of this true proverb:149 A dog returns to its own vomit,”150 and “A sow, after washing herself,151 wallows in the mire.”152
